The start of the journey!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the CCPF 2oo8 Mission Blog!

Starting on Saturday we're going to be posting on this blog every day with updates and stories from the mission. This year we have a big team going--15 doctors, 9 nurses, 3 OR technicians and 6 volunteers. We see so many children who need urgent medical care and with such a dedicated group of CCPF volunteers we plan to operate on between 60 and 80 kids. It's going to be a busy week!

Time to run to airport, with three 50lb bags full of toys and clothes! Please read our blog, feel free to comment and leave suggestions. We're excited to be able to share this experience with our friends, family and supporters who make it possible for us to do this work.

That's all for now but we'll be back on Saturday blogging from Nanchang!

Fond regards to the CCPF team and particularly my brother, Josh Hyman. Molly, Nathaniel, Lily, and I are very proud of you. I trust the days ahead will be difficult, but know that people around the globe are grateful for what you're doing. All the best. - Andy

Sounds like you are off to a wonderful start with a lot less road blocks than last year. Just want to send my best to all of you and my thanks for all that you do in so many big and small ways. We had the pleasure of seeing your fabulous work in action after spending months with a wonderful little one who had regained freedom of movement and her dignity because of the operation you provided. Fondly, Dot LaRussa
